Here’s the structural constraint: When an AI tries to find ”the best distributed systems expert,” it can see 40% of their GitHub contributions (if they use GitHub), 30% of their Stack Overflow answers (if they answer there), 15% of their conference talks (if recorded and transcribed), 10% of their workplace contributions (if the company allows API access), and 0% of their mentorship impact, contribution cascades, private collaboration, or longitudinal expertise development. Total: 85% invisible at best. Usually 95%+.
You cannot build superintelligence on 15% of the information. This is why every AI assistant, no matter how capable the underlying model, gives you generic advice that sounds plausible but lacks depth. The model doesn’t know who actually solved problems like yours. It doesn’t know whose advice led to real-world success versus whose led to technical debt. The model is blind. AI impact can be traced longitudinally. Systems can be evaluated on whether humans became more capable, whether advice led to positive long-term outcomes, whether dependency increased or capability increased, and whether contribution amplified or concentrated. Accountability stops being theater and becomes measurable reality.
Alignment Becomes Achievable
AI gets complete feedback loops. It can observe whether its help led to human improvement, whether engagement created value or addiction, whether optimization served flourishing or extraction, and whether meaning grew or collapsed. Alignment becomes architecturally possible because the feedback signals finally exist.
The Information-Theoretic Proof
This is not advocacy. This is information theory.
