CASCADE PROOF

Cascade Proof visualizing how verified architecture travels across institutional boundaries through causal verification, transforming signals into verifiable evidence that can be carried forward by Portable Identity.

Cascade Proof verifies. Portable Identity carries the verification.

Portable Identity carries what the verification instruments establish. But carrying a verification that no institution can interpret — or that disappears when the person transitions — is not enough.

Cascade Proof is the verification instrument that establishes the causal dimension of what Portable Identity carries: not that something genuine happened in the practitioner, but that genuine formation transmitted to others in ways that persisted after contact ended, propagated further without the originator’s involvement, and compounded across generations.

This is the pattern that fabrication cannot retroactively generate.

What Cascade Proof Establishes

When genuine formation is transmitted to another person, it leaves a specific structural pattern in the world: the person who received it becomes more capable in ways that persist independently, they transmit further to others who also become more capable, and the capability branches exponentially across generations of genuine developmental encounter.

This pattern requires four conditions to be satisfied simultaneously:

Verified capability increase — the person who received genuine transmission became genuinely more capable, not temporarily assisted. What they gained persisted when all support was removed.

Independent propagation — they transmitted further to others without the originator’s continued involvement. If the originator must be present at each node, it is dependency, not genuine formation.

Temporal persistence — the capability holds across time, in genuinely novel contexts, under conditions neither party anticipated. What was genuinely deposited persists. What was borrowed collapses.

Exponential branching — each genuine transmission creates multiple further transmissions. The pattern multiplies rather than degrading across generations.

Together, these four conditions constitute a causal structure that exists in the world — in specific people, verified by those people, tracked across time. Fabrication cannot produce this structure retroactively. Not because fabrication is insufficiently sophisticated. Because producing the pattern requires traversing the genuine developmental encounters it represents, in each person, at each generation.

Why Portable Identity Requires Cascade Proof

Without Cascade Proof, Portable Identity carries temporal persistence and semantic specification — but not the causal dimension.

What Persisto Ergo Didici establishes is that genuine architecture persisted in the person. What MeaningLayer specifies is what kind of architecture was built. These are genuine and necessary.

But neither establishes what the practitioner produced in others.

The receiving institution needs to know not only what the practitioner carries but what their formation has created in the world through others — whether genuine capability increases persisted in the people they worked with, whether those people transmitted further, whether the causal chain that genuine formation produces is actually present.

Without Cascade Proof, the causal dimension of verified architecture is absent. The carrier carries less than it should.

With Cascade Proof, the receiving institution can verify not only that something genuine was built in the practitioner, but that the practitioner’s genuine formation has produced verifiable effects in others that persisted, propagated, and compounded. The complete causal picture travels with them.

The Relationship in One Sentence

Cascade Proof establishes the causal evidence. Portable Identity ensures the causal evidence travels with the person across every institutional boundary that would otherwise require them to prove it again from scratch.

The full architecture:

MeaningLayer defines the value. Cascade Proof verifies the value. Portable Identity carries the value. Contribution Graph shows the value.

Remove Cascade Proof and the architecture carries formation evidence without causal verification — what persisted in the practitioner, but not what their formation produced in others. That is a meaningful absence. Genuine formation becomes visible not only in what a person became, but in what others became because they were there.

That is what Cascade Proof verifies. That is what Portable Identity then carries forward.
